Casper Bluff Land & Water Reserve

Casper Bluff is an 85 acre cultural and natural resource marvel that invites and excites those interested in Native American mound building, history and culture. The archaelogically significant site features the majority of the Aiken mound group. This includes 51 burial mounds, including the only intact bird effigy in Illinois. Experience the flora and fauna of the bluffs from this exquisite site with its commanding views of the Mississippi River and backwater sloughs. The site is also an excellent birding location to view woodland and grassland birds, as well as birds associated with the Mississippi River backwaters.
